CORE THEMES
“If women remember that once upon a time we sang with the tongues of seals and flew with the wings of swans, that we forged our own paths through the dark forest while creating a community of its many inhabitants, then we will rise up rooted, like trees. And if we rise up rooted, like trees … well then, women might indeed save not only ourselves, but the world. ~ Sharon Blackie
About KATHERINE
Katherine Bennett, LPCC is the facilitator for our If Women Rose Rooted workshop. Katherine brings a wealth of experience, having earned a Graduate Certificate in Narrative Psychological Approach: Finding Ourselves in Fairytales with Sharon Blackie, the author of If Women Rose Rooted. In this transformative graduate certificate program, Katherine deepened her understanding of the archetypal power of fairy tales and their ability to help us rewrite our personal narratives. Through the lens of the Eco-Heroine’s Journey, she explored the process of individuation and the archetypal feminine, learning powerful therapeutic techniques for addressing life challenges such as trauma, addiction, grief, and life transitions like motherhood, midlife, and menopause.
Katherine’s unique approach integrates narrative psychology and a transpersonal perspective, viewing life as an interconnected tapestry that fosters an expansive sense of self. She creates a safe and supportive space for participants to explore their mind-body-spirit-community connection, gain clarity, and reclaim the beauty of their life stories. With her deep expertise and compassionate guidance, Katherine is the perfect facilitator to lead you through this profound journey of self-discovery and empowerment in the If Women Rose Rooted workshop.

About the Author: SHARON BLACKIE, PhD
Sharon’s unique approach to working with the mythic imagination, and with an archetypal approach to myth, fairy tales and folklore, highlights the insights these traditions can offer us into authentic and meaningful ways of being in the world.
As a psychologist and folklorist/ mythologist, the transformative power of story has been at the heart of her work for decades. She is a recognised pioneer in reclaiming women’s stories, especially from old British and European traditions. Her 2016 word-of-mouth bestseller If Women Rose Rooted offered groundbreaking ideas at the intersection of British and Celtic myth, women’s spirituality and ecology. With her books Hagitude and Wise Women, she has led the way in reimagining the stories of midlife, menopause and the second half of life.
