Where do I start?
We are happy to guide you on your healing journey! When you reach out, we’ll connect you with a practitioner whose skills and passions aligns with your needs. All of our clinicians are trauma-informed and many are versed in EMDR and come from diverse backgrounds, offering unique specialties like depth psychology, somatic-based therapy, psychedelic therapy, and more.
Our knowledgeable admin will assist in finding your perfect match. Whether through a call or form, we’ll gather only the information you’re comfortable sharing. Your pronouns are always honored. During your consultation, collaborate with your therapist to uncover the best path forward using their recommended therapies.
What to Expect
We will likely begin with weekly or biweekly sessions. We are sensitive to budgets and we will determine a cadence that feels comfortable to you. During the first couple of sessions, your therapist will help you identify and prioritize your goals for therapy. They will hold these goals in mind throughout the course of your work together. As your goals are reached and new ones arise, they will check-in periodically to discuss progress. Our teams objective is to support and empower you in ways that result in you feeling better. As you progress, time between appointments often increases or decreases at a rate that you are comfortable with.
We will meet via a HIPAA-compliant video platform.
Can you see me if I have Medicaid? What if I can pay out of pocket?
We are not a Medicaid provider at this time. We are not allowed to treat anyone who is covered under Medicaid, even if they want to pay out of pocket. Based on our conversations with Medicaid representatives we have been told explicitly that if you are covered under Medicaid, even if you wish to pay out of pocket, you are not permitted to be seen by a non-Medicaid provider. Likewise, as non-Medicaid providers, we are barred from treating anyone who is covered under Medicaid. We did not make these rules, but we are required to follow them. If you have Medicaid please contact Medicaid to find a list of providers who are allowed to see Medicaid clients.
For more information about the regulations see the Code of Colorado Regulations 8.012.2 PROVIDER LIABILITY:
8.012.2.A. Providers are explicitly prohibited from collecting payment, or attempting to collect payment through a third party, from a recipient or the estate of the recipient for the cost or the cost remaining after payment by Medicaid, Medicare, or a private insurer of Medicaid covered items or services rendered to Medicaid recipients.
8.012.2.B. Providers shall be liable to a recipient or the estate of the recipient if the Provider knowingly receives or seeks collections through a third party of an amount in payment for Medicaid covered items or services.
8.012.2.C. Providers are prohibited from collecting, or attempting to collect, payment from recipients for Medicaid covered items or services regardless of whether Medicaid has actually reimbursed the Provider and regardless of whether the Provider is enrolled in the Colorado medical assistance program.
8.012.2.D. Providers shall be liable for the amount unlawfully received, statutory interest on the amount received from the date of receipt until the date of repayment, plus a civil monetary penalty equal to one half of the amount unlawfully received.
Availability
We are available to see clients from 8am to 5pm MT Monday through Thursday and every other Friday. After-work and after-school hours typically fill up quickly. We do our best to accommodate as many clients as possible during these coveted time slots.
Do you offer virtual therapy or in person?
At this time, we are only offering virtual appointments. We are investigating office space, so that may change in 2025.
Virtual therapy can be a great option for people who have challenges attending in-person appointments. Due to licensing regulations, you must reside in the state of Colorado to be seen remotely by one of our therapists.
All of our virtual appointments are through a HIPAA-compliant video therapy system that can be used from any smartphone, tablet, or computer.
We can adapt trauma techniques for virtual therapy, including EMDR.
Are there any concerns you don’t treat?
- Active Substance Use: We do not have anyone on our staff who specializes in active substance use so are not a good fit as your primary therapist if you are currently struggling with active substance abuse. If you are in recovery and have substance abuse specific support in place, we may be a good fit to work on related issues such as mood, anxiety, or relationships. We also work with clients who are in long term recovery and are interested in understanding their deeper challenges, managing mood or anxiety issues, or working on their relationships. If your main therapeutic goal is around active substance abuse, we are not the best fit.
- Schizophrenia / Psychosis: We do not currently have a therapist that specializes in this area. If you had postpartum psychosis, we can consider working with you as we do have that expertise on our team.
- Custody evaluations or court ordered therapy: We do not do custody evaluations or court ordered therapy.
- Animal evaluations: Like most therapists, we will not certify an Emotional Service Animal without an established relationship with a client. If you are calling with getting an emotional support animal letter as your main goal, we are not the right fit.
- Disability: Like most therapists, we will not sign disability papers without having an established, ongoing relationship with a client. If you are looking for someone to fill out disability forms, we are not the right fit.
Psychedelic Assisted Therapy with Psilocybin
At Emotion Alchemy Collective, we are legally able to provide counseling, guidance, and support services for your personal use of psilocybin, however, under the new state law, our practitioners have the following limitations:
- We are unable to provide psilocybin-assisted therapy until the state of Colorado has finalized the licensing requirements for healing centers and facilitators, expected to be in late 2024.
- We are not allowed to sell psilocybin-containing mushrooms.
- We cannot suggest or recommend that you use psilocybin mushrooms for therapy or any other purposes.
Practitioners at Emotion Alchemy Collective take a holistic, long-term approach to providing support services for the personal use of psilocybin. We like to develop a relationship with the clients who are seeking this type of therapy. This includes initial meetings for preparation, and follow up sessions to discuss your experience with the medicine to process any wisdom you gather during the peak psychedelic experience and discuss how to integrate those findings into your daily life.
Cancellation Policy
Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel your appointment. If appointments are cancelled within 24 hours, the full fee of the appointment will be charged. Cancellation fees will only be waived in the event of a true medical emergency, requiring urgent professional treatment, a sudden death in the family or a natural disaster.
